You will need to change the backplate, but the connections are exactly the same.

Hi - I have the LP522 (after 25+ years the battery has gone and heating advance no longer works) so will the LP722 be a suitable replacement i.e. old one off and straight swap or do I have to replace like for like with the LP522

Yes, it would be a easy replacement and will clip onto the old backplate with no wiring changes needed.

I have an old satchwell sunvic mechanical timer that has HWor CH&HW choice,connected to a 2 zone valve, drayton RTS1 room stat and tank thermostat.

Turn the room thermostat right down. If the fault still occurs, then the problem will be in the motorised valve.

Can i just programme it for the water to come on once a day in the morning or have i got to enter all 3 timer programmes on this model?
I cannot find info about me just using one timer. I don't need the water off and on 3 times a day.

For unwanted periods, just set the on and off times to the same time. The programmer will ignore them.
